Our Mission
Neuroblastoma is the most common cancer in infants and in toddlers it is extraordinarily deadly. After enduring the most intense chemotherapy regimen given to any human beings these infants and toddlers – these children – end up relapsing more often than not. Once this disease comes back there is no cure. The treatment options then offered to these children once they do relapse is often much too toxic for their ravaged bodies to handle after what they had to endure during upfront therapy. As a result they spend more time trying to simply recover from these therapies so they can receive even more treatment than they spend actually LIVING life.
It is well beyond the time when these CHILDREN should have been offered treatment options that infuse hope, a decent quality of life, and give them a chance to simply LIVE. It is not a lot to ask, however, today needs to be the first day where relapsed neuroblastoma is transformed from a death sentence to a chronic health condition. We aim to achieve our mission through raising money and funding relevant research and clinical trials with doctors and scientists who have the same beliefs. Our work supports the Neuroblastoma Fund at the Van Andel Research Institute which is home to an extraordinary national consortium of children’s hospitals called the Neuroblastoma and Medulloblastoma Translational Research Consortium (NMTRC). The spirit of collaboration shown by these dedicated researchers, scientists, doctors, families, and foundations has proven that change is just around the corner. Change you can help make happen with your support.
